| High school career? if you're in high school and want to go to harvard med then you must first get into an ivy league undergrad and do extremely well, as in 3.75 gpa or higher, also do a lot of volunteering, research, and clinical work/shadowing. Then study hard for the mcats and get at least a 35 on them, lastly apply early, try to volunteer at Mass general hospital and make friends with as many faculty members of Harvard med as possible. Show that you're motivated and very smart and you'll get in. But I can't stress enough how important it is to come from an Ivy league undergrad (preferably Harvard). I have a friend who graduated from Lehigh University (ranked #36 in the nation) with a 3.98 GPA a Biochemistry Major, got a 38 on the MCAT and didn't get into harvard med, he did however get into NYU med(still a very good school).
you have a very very hard road a head of you with lots and lots of studying and very little fun/partying if you really want to go to harvard med. good luck. |
